"The Ring of Beara, a bit in Kerry and a bit in Cork."

Castletownbere is a town worth to visit. Boat trips to Bere Island and it's stone circles. From Castletownbere
the Ring of Beara leads to Dursey Island, there is nothing on the island other than sheep and only reachable via a cable car swinging above the sea.

The Ring of Beara Internet Guide

Arguably the most spectacular, a route less popular than the Ring of Kerry but a most when visiting Ireland. The Ring of Beara runs the town of Glengarrif in county Cork to Kenmare in county Kerry, The Long way around. Glengarriff is a small village offering Boat trips to Garnish Island famous for their wonderful Italian garden. From Glengarrif to Castletownbere at Adrigole is the turn off to the Healy Pass, a winding road that cuts through the mountains to the village of Lauragh.

Next stop Allihies, a former copper mining town. Eyeries is a village known for art and seaside beauty leading you to Ardgroom and Lauragh which leads you to Kenmare. On the way to Kenmare you find the best accommodations and a wide choice of restaurants.
